Whether you're relocating for work, retiring, or simply trading winters for sunshine, choosing the right neighborhood matters as much as choosing the right house. That's where I come in.

  • No state personal income tax
  • Tampa International Airport, consistently well-rated by travelers
  • Gulf beaches, boating and hundreds of miles of waterfront
  • Major-league sports, arts, dining and year-round events
  • Diverse housing: historic homes, new construction, condos and estates
  • A thriving business community in finance, healthcare, tech and defense

Neighborhood Guide

Where to live in Tampa Bay

A quick look at some of the area's most popular communities. Ask me for a personalized tour of any of them.

Carrollwood & Northdale

My home base. Established neighborhoods around Lake Carroll and the area’s other lakes, mature trees, a mix of pool homes, golf-course and lakefront properties, and a central location near Dale Mabry, the Veterans Expressway and Tampa International Airport.

South Tampa

Where I was raised and lived for 35 years, so I know it street by street. Hyde Park, Bayshore Boulevard, Palma Ceia and Davis Islands. Tree-lined streets, historic and new-build homes, boutique dining and easy access to downtown and Tampa International Airport.

Downtown Tampa & Channel District

High-rise condos and townhomes near the Riverwalk, Water Street, sports arenas and nightlife. Ideal for lock-and-leave, walkable city living.

St. Petersburg

A vibrant waterfront downtown with museums, murals and marinas, plus charming neighborhoods like Old Northeast, Kenwood and Snell Isle.

Clearwater & Dunedin

Gulf beaches, sunsets and a relaxed coastal pace, with everything from beachfront condos to classic single-family homes.

Westchase & Northwest Tampa

Master-planned communities with golf, parks and trails, and convenient access to the airport and Veterans Expressway.

Wesley Chapel & Lutz

Newer construction, amenity-rich communities, shopping and dining, popular with buyers who want more space for the money.

Brandon & Riverview

Established suburbs and newer subdivisions east and south of Tampa with a wide range of price points and quick I-75 access.

Apollo Beach

Canal-front and bay-front homes for boaters, with a quieter South Shore lifestyle about 25 minutes from downtown Tampa.

Relocation FAQ

Moving to Tampa Bay: common questions

Does Florida have a state income tax?

No. Florida has no state personal income tax, which is one reason many people relocate here. Property taxes, insurance and HOA fees vary by location, so I'll help you compare total cost of ownership between areas.

What is the Florida homestead exemption?

If the home is your permanent primary residence, you may qualify for a homestead exemption that reduces the taxable value of your home and caps annual increases in its assessed value. You apply with your county property appraiser, typically by March 1 of the year after you buy.

Can I buy a Tampa home without seeing it in person?

Yes. Many of my relocation clients buy after live video tours, detailed walkthrough videos and neighborhood drive-throughs. Inspections, appraisal and closing can all be coordinated remotely, including mobile or remote notary options.

When is hurricane season in Florida?

Atlantic hurricane season runs June 1 through November 30. When you buy, I'll help you understand a home's flood zone, roof age, wind-rated windows and doors, and how those features affect insurance costs.

Which Tampa Bay area is right for me?

It depends on your commute, lifestyle, budget and must-haves: walkable city living, beach access, a golf community, new construction, or more land. Tell me what matters most and I'll put together a personalized neighborhood tour.
